Curling is a winter sport that is played at the winter Olympics every four years. In curling players slide stones across ice and try to get the stone in a circular target. Two teams of four players each take turns sliding polished granite rocks across the ice towards the target. The strip of ice is known as the “curling sheet” and the target is known as the “house.” Curling was first played in medieval Scotland. The winner is determined by the team who has the most points. Points are accumulated by getting the stones in the house.
