Tennis is played on a green rectangle usually made of clay or some other hard surface. The court is twenty-seven feet wide and seventy-eight long. The net splits the court in half and each player stays on either side of the tennis net. There are also courts for teams of two which makes the court thirty-six feet wide. The net is three feet six inches tall and stretches across the Tennis court. The current Tennis courts are based on designs from Walter Clopton Wingfield.
